While looking over what types of footwear are being offered to women this spring and summer from Frye, I was taken aback by styles that are “over the top” in terms of their eye-catching looks – as well as the variety of different styles to choose from.
New wedge sandal styles: There are a number of wedge sandals from Frye this year that struck my fancy, including the Corrina Stitch, Braylin Artisanal, Braylin Braided, Corrina Woven and the Carlie Huarache. While these sandals correspond with the current movement toward wedge styles, they also manage to break ground for unique looks – these are shoes that would enhance any woman’s appearance and add more than a touch of femininity, yet they also manage to convey an earthy and natural visual appeal.
New flat sandal styles: The flat sandals this year from Frye are my favorites from the collection. While each of the different sandals has its own look or mood, the ones that I predict women will be clamoring for this year include the Amelie X Strap and the Amelie 2 Piece. Again, while these sandals rise to the challenge of current fashion trends with their Roman style, they have looks like no other sandals I have seen – stunning.
New ballet flat styles: The ballet flats available this year struck me as having a soft, romantic appeal. Each of the new styles has a design to set off the natural curves of a woman’s foot and leg, adding “just the right touch” of femininity to any lady who wears them. These picks from the Frye collection are also quite versatile – they could be worn with practically anything in a wardrobe, adding so much to a woman’s appearance. Collections to check out: Frye Carson ballet flats and the new Frye Emma ballet styles.
As a writer in women’s fashion for the past few years, “Frye” has always been one of my favorite subjects – the obvious care in craftsmanship and a unique talent to create trends (rather than follow them), makes this company not only a “go-to” brand for classic styles, but also a maker of contemporary, fashion-forward looks that any woman would be proud to wear. New Frye shoes and sandals for spring and summer of 2011 are no exception.

New Frye Shoes and Boots May, 2011 - 15 New Styles to Look Over
There are some gorgeous new Frye shoes and boots that have recently been released - in fact there are more than what have been listed here come out recently, but the ones here are the top 15 Fashion Fiend picks coming into the mid spring season of 2011 (listed in alphabetic order rather than by style or price):
Frye Alessia Artisanal Flip Flop
This is a simple and lovely style - leather strapped upper, basic thong style. The crossing strap branches out into a double strap as it connects with the footbed. Probably what stands out to me the most for this particular style is the fact that it comes in such a wide array of colors. Lovely. =)
Retail price: Around $98.00

This is a step up in both looks and detailing from the Flip Flop - while also having a thong style, the strapping is more elaborate and there is a buckle closure around the ankle. This style (like the Flip Flop) comes in quite a nice array of colors to choose from - making it more than a little bit tempting to purchase multiple pairs. Simply gorgeous.
Retail price: Around $128.00

Now here is a sandal for this season! The "two piece" comes from its obvious design, having two solid pieces of leather for the upper's construction. The ankle strap really makes it - it is a wide, solid strap that adds a sultry and elegant look to the wearer. This is a stunning style, and is perhaps to me a favorite for this year - or at least one of them.
Retail price: Around $158.00

This sandal bears a distinct Roman Gladiator look, with multiple delicate straps crossing for the upper while a single wider strap moves up the foot. The "X Stitch" name seems to come from the cross-stitch leather detailing up the vamp. This sandal is available in several different colors.
Retail price: Around $148.00

The Frye Carson ballet slipper lineup has become quite the collection! This is the first of two new styles listed here on this page - other styles are also available for ladies this year. This particular style has grommet detailing around the upper portion of the shoe to add a very nice touch - a bit bolder than some of the other Carson styles.
Retail price: Around $148.00

The second of the two new Frye Carson ballet flats listed for this spring and summer - this style has leather string crossing the front of the shoe vamp and along the back of the heel, adding a look that is unique to all of the other Carson flats available. A snazzy look that will go with just about anything.
Retail price: Around $148.00

Here is the first heeled sandal on this particular list of Frye styles for spring and summer 2011. This is a dressy sandal, with a look that is unmistakably Frye - the leather details on this style are stunning. The heel height is 5 1/4 inches, with a platform of almost 2 inches.
Retail price: Around $200

This sandal has a look sort of similar to the Fran Artisanal - with detailing that makes it different. Although this is also a heeled platform sandal with a T-Strap design, this one has metal grommet detailing and beads up the vamp strap. Gorgeous. =)
Retail price: Around $228.00

Here is a slide style shoe for all women this year - it comes in so many different colors that it is tough to list them all out! Gorgeous details - the upper is constructed from multiple tiny straps of leather with some lovely details up the vamp.
Retail price: Around $128.00

Not to be confused with the Jacey Hurache slide, this is a different design in construction. The front of the shoe appears to be identical in design, but rather than having a slide style, this shoe has a back to round out the look. It features the same stud detailing up the vamp.
Retail price: Around $138.00 (But - I am already starting to see some markdown prices on this one.)

This is actually a first for me - I have never come across a boat shoe style for women from Frye - and it doesn't appear to disappoint. The "boat" is a classic style of shoe that will go with just about anything - a great pick for wearing with jeans, shorts, etc. - and is appropriate for wear in the colder months of the year as well (unless it is absolutely freezing outside).
Retail price: Around $128.00

Here is a new "long tall drink of water" look among the Frye women's boot collection for 2011. It is quite a sleek and simple boot basically, but the grommet details make it anything but "Plain Jane." It has a lovely and soft curve western style to it, with quite a high boot shaft and a bit of a heel for an added touch of feminine. (Sigh.)
Retail price: Around $368.00

Back into the idea of spring and summer looks - the Sage Cut Slide sandal has double panels - both of which are perforated for a gorgeous overall style. This is a great "put in on fast and go" shoe for this season, created to go just as beautifully with some worn out jeans as with a skirt or a dress. It is available in a few rich looking colors.
Retail price: Around $168.00

With a style that is similar to the Quincy Boat, this sandal is nevertheless a "moc" style with the leather lacing to prove it. Another "great to go with anything" style for women from Frye this year. It is available in a few rich, warm colors (my favorite is the dark green).
Retail price: Around $148.00

Another Frye Wendy "moc" style shoe this year - This version is much more versatile in terms of the range of colors available, and has a different touch with the leather tassels on the vamp. A rich look and a classic style for the ladies. (Note: Check out the pink color - it looks great!)
Retail price: Around $148.00
