Frye Women's Veronica Shortie

The Frye Women's Veronica Shortie is the short version in the Veronica boot collection for women. I love this boot.

The colors available for the Veronica Shortie include Cognac Antic Brush Off (shown left - my personal favorite) as well as a rather huge selection of other colors - so pretty much any woman who likes the general look of these could have one or more pair that would do just perfectly.

Now - shopping for these is a breeze at Zappos - at this writing several of the colors are at markdown prices (not a surprise since we're headed into the warmer weather) - but the best thing about the Frye Women's Veronica Shortie @ Zappos is the selection - it's honestly the best online for this boot (especially for the prices), and you will find just the pair you like and probably for the right price.

Double Stack Rainbow Sandals - Types, Shopping Tips

The "Stack" Rainbow Sandals - (also called "Double Stack" Rainbow Sandals) are the best of all worlds for flip-flop sandals.

They are available in both leather and hemp styles (hemp is shown in the photo to the left) - for men and women. (I wasn't able to find kids' sizes for the Double Stack Rainbow).

Now - of all the leather and hemp sandals available you will find a very nice range of colors - especially in the leather collection.

All of the Double Stack Rainbow Sandals feature both an arch support on the inside of the footbed and have the "memory foam" that Rainbow Sandals wearers love - and is very likely the reason they are so incredibly popular. (The Rainbows, by the way, are quite a bit more popular than brands such as Reef and Teva - beating them out in the "flip flops" market by quite a ways.

Alright - now onto the shopping. Like the rest of the Rainbow Sandals, the Double Stack is available for discount price, with quite a nice selection here:

OK - something today for the kids - Kids Rainbow Sandals. If you've arrived here on this page/blog post, it's pretty likely that you're looking for them. So I have some info and
"Fashion Fiend shopping tips" up my sleeve that you might like. =)

For starters, I want to mention that (with the exception of the leather) the styles for kids are a bit different than for Men's and Women's Rainbow Flip Flop Sandals.

Here's what there is to choose from:

• Leather Kids Rainbow Sandals - These have the same soft leather and comfort that is available with the adult style - and a rather nice selection of colors so whether you're shopping for a boy or girl, you will probably find exactly what you want.

• Kids Cape Rainbow Sandals - As a note, I've seen this called "Kids Cape" and "Kidcapes" - if you've seen either just know they're the same sandal. There is a photo of these top-left, and are very cool (and pretty cute too). They're available in Navy, Dark Brown, Sierra Brown and Pink.
  

• Crystal Kids Rainbow Sandals - Something for the little ladies! This is the kids version of the Ladies Crystal Rainbow Sandals - high quality leather, genuine colored crystals to match the color of the shoe.

Best Shopping: There are actually a few places that offer Kids Rainbow Sandals - unfortunately not all of them have the same selection or price.  I created a page that will provide more than one choice for Kids Rainbow Sandals shopping, which stays up-to-date on current sale prices and "who carries what":

Men's Rainbow Sandals - Leather and Hemp, Single and Double

Alright - next for the Rainbow Sandals lineup, here's some info all about Men's Rainbow Sandals.

The Men's flip-flop sandals are available in both leather and hemp materials, they also come in the single and double layer styles.

The colors? There's quite a few for the leather, including (I may need to take a breath before I can list all of them)... Dark Brown, Sierra (lighter brown), Expresso (even darker brown), Black, Sand, Grey, Light Brown, Blue, Red and Forest Green.

For the hemp, there are fewer colors to choose from - they include Natural, Black and Brown (at least).

Now on to the good stuff - where to shop for them? Basically for the men, the same shopping theme applies (as I wrote about from earlier posts). The best places are:

• #1 - Men's Rainbow Sandals @ BeckerSurf (for selection, decent prices too)
• #2 - Good comparison site - Men's Rainbow Sandals on eBay

Rainbow Sandals - Single Layer Styles for Men and Women

Rainbow Sandals Single Layer version for Men and Women are available in both Leather and Hemp styles, and are sometimes known as the "single" version of some of the coolest flip-flop "eco sandals" ever.

The leather Singles are a bit easier to find exactly the pair you are looking for, since they are more plentiful in terms of supply and variety of colors.

Both the leather and the hemp Rainbow Sandals single layer flip flops have the familiar "memory foam" footbed that perfectly comform to the shape of anyone's foot and provides the ultimate in comfort. This Rainbow sandal also has an arch support to add just that much more comfort and are better for feet that simple flat flip-flops. (Ha! Say that ten times fast.)

OK - now for shopping I will let you know right away that you will likely have a bit of a harder time finding the exact pair you want in the hemp, but I can give you a tip that the best place to find them is right here:  Single Layer Hemp Rainbow Sandals - a sort of unlikely place, but true nonetheless. =)

For either the hemp or the leather, I also recommend that you check for Single Layer Rainbow Sandals on eBay - surprisingly enough the prices are a bit higher on the eBay auctions - but there are always exceptions and it might just be that I'm looking not far enough into the spring and summer seasons to have the right idea - at any rate it's always worth taking a look.

I'm relatively certain that folks will be checking out what's available with Women's Rainbow Sandals this year - last year they were a huge hit, and this year I predict they'll be even more in demand.

An interesting thing about these sandals (flip flops) - they have been around for a looooong time - but only in the last several years have they reached their peak in popularity - resulting in a broadened variety of styles and colors.

Rainbow Sandals - Hemp Rainbow Sandals for Men and Women

Rainbow Sandals Hemp styles are a very "hot item" in the Rainbow Flip Flop Sandals collection this year, and as the summer approaches I expect we'll see many more of them on Men's and Women's feet.

These are available in the single layer and double layer (or "double stack") versions for both men and women - and they're a bit more difficult to track down than the leather versions.

But - I'm sure we can manage. =)

The Rainbow Sandals in Hemp retail for around $45 to $50 - but if you dig deeply enough you can find them for less for either the Double or the Single.

Frye Veronica Boot - "Slouch"

The Frye Veronica Boot - "Slouch" is one of the top-selling, most loved boots in the Frye Women's Collection.

Right now (as of March 2009) there are some pretty decent prices on this boot - some good sales on the Black Patent Leather Frye Veronica as well as some other colors. (Note: Even if you're reading this at a later date, I'm about to list out some great places where you should check to buy them.)

First let's check out Zappos - I happened to notice today that the Frye Veronica (several of their colors) are on sale @ Zappos.com. (Plus free overnight shipping/free returns.)

I also notice that the Frye Veronica is on sale for a tiny bit less @ Endless.com, and you can also find some great auctions and stores with "holy cow!" prices on eBay. (I mean really sweet prices on them.)

Now - the Frye Veronica Boot - "Slouch" is one of the classic looks by Frye - the buckled belt atop the boot allows for adjustment / better fit. It's available in a rather large variety of colors, including Black, Black Patent, Burnt Red, Butter, Cognac Antic Brush Off, Dark Brown, Dark Brown Patent, Grey Patent and Sand. (A lot of versatility for this classic Frye Boot!)

If you're shopping for them, my suggestion is to check the resources given above - you'll be very likely to find them for the best prices online.

Rainbow Leather Sandals for Men, Women and Kids

Rainbow Leather Sandals are among the top-selling of all flip-flop sandals for men, women and kids.

On this post I will cover not only a bit about the best places to buy them, but also a note about Rainbow Sandals themselves.

OK, to start off with, I can tell you up front that there are a few places to buy them, but not as many as I thought there would be. Some places sell them for some pretty nice discount prices and some hike the price up a bit too high - at least for my taste. (And - considering they're the same shoes I think I'd rather pay less =))

My first choice would be Rainbow Leather Sandals @ Squidoo shopping. The reason - for the selection.  You can find all the best current resources for Rainbow Sandals in leather (all versions, genders, for men, women and kids) - all in once place.

Then - my next choice is Rainbow Leather Sandals on eBay. The auctions that I saw were not that much less than the prices on Amazon, and you usually end up paying a bit more on the shipping than you would otherwise.

Keep in mind that this info is in general. In other words, you might find a pair at Amazon for a little girl for less than you would find at Becker, or visa versa. But generally speaking, it looks like Becker has the best deals.

What are the other resources I checked? Well, it's interesting - I checked my usual footwear resources and they don't carry them - maybe they should! (Hint, hint.) Some of the other online surfer shops have them in stock, but the prices were hiked up quite a bit higher than Becker.

OK - enough about prices. =)

A note about Rainbow Sandals / Rainbow Leather Sandals - I love these flip-flops. Some folks might be more prone to purchase their "flips" from a discount store like Wal-Mart or some such place, but Rainbow Flip Flops are very different. They're made with a "memory foam" footbed - the result is that the sandal conforms to the shape of the foot for each individual wearer, and fits that person perfectly. The footbed also cushions against shocks, bumps, etc.

Another reason to buy them - they're extremely well made. Other flip-flops are going to fall apart after one summer, but not these. They last and last - and last. =)

The leather - it's a premier quality, soft - making the Rainbow Leather Sandals even that much more comfy. Truly the top of the line in flip flops for men, women and kids too.

Should You Buy Shoes Online?

A common question for women (men too) regarding apparel purchases online is "Should I buy shoes online?"

A number of people hesitate to buy footwear online - and for good reason really. I'll speak from my own experience here -

When I go shopping for a pair of shoes in a store, I might love the way the shoes look on the shelf, but once they're on my feet it might be a whole different story. Visa versa is also true - I've tried shoes on that I thought wouldn't look good at all but loved them.

There is also a concern about shoe size. Of course this would be a concern, various shoe manufacturers have slightly different sizes - maybe they fit a bit larger than standard, perhaps a bit smaller. It's actually a comfort to be able to try them on.

These are definite arguments against buying shoes online.

But - there are definitely reasons why buying shoes online is a good idea too...

First and foremost, you can find what you are looking for. How many times have you gone shopping for a pair of shoes in various stores only to find that they didn't have the brand or look specific to what you wanted? If you're like me, that happens quite often and it's frustrating - either I end up without the shoes period, or I end up with a "second best" that I didn't have my heart set on.

Another good reason to purchase shoes online is - you can find much better deals. There are 4 or 5 online shoe resources that I generally use or refer other people to. Usually at least one of these has the shoes marked down - or they are being auctioned off for much less than I would pay in a store. Yes - you really can't beat the deals.

What about the sizing and if you don't like the shoes? Well, there are a few merchants that understand this problem well such as Zappos.com, Endless.com, Shoebuy.com and Heels.com. Each of these online shoe stores provides free shipping and a free return service in case the shoes don't work. They also give information up front to help you find exactly the right size - tips on finding the exact size of your foot, how the shoe you're looking at compares to "standard size", etc.

Bottom line - You can find shoes online and it is a better deal. with the current tools given you by various shoe merchants online, it's pretty easy to find out whether the shoes would fit right or not - and if they don't - you're not saddled with any shipping expense to return them or exchange them.

Should you buy shoes online? With the resources that are available these days, my answer is a resounding "Yeah!". It's easy, and you can save quite a bit of money in the process. =)

Frye Carmen Boot for Women

The last set of Frye Women's Boots that I want to cover in terms of styles and price shopping is the Frye Carmen Boot for Women.

This is another collection of boots that makes me want to breath a long sigh (ahhhhh). I just love these - and they're unique to the other collections in the Women's Frye Boot lineup - distinctly a feminine touch with an irresistible western appeal.

Favorite Styles: Frye Carmen 14L Boot, Frye Carmen 14L Inside Zip, Frye Carmen 3 Strap Boot, Frye Carmen 8L Shortie, Frye Carmen 7L Chelsea

Retail Price Info: The retail prices for the Frye Carmen Boot range from around $250 (for the Shortie) to around $350 (for the 3 Strap).

After taking a bit of a shopping tour myself, here's the merchants I found to be the best in terms of service and pricing:

• Frye Carmen Boot @ Endless - I found a bit less selection here, but the markdowns on what is in stock are great. Over 30% off today on the 3 Strap, and about 10% off on the 7L Chelsea.


• Frye Carmen Boot @ Zappos - Really nice selection. Let's see about markdowns - yes, there are some. 20% off on one of the 14L's, and also 20% off on the 3 Strap. =) And - this is great - 30% off on the 14L Inside Zip. Very nice.


• Frye Carmen Boot @ Heels.com - Not in stock.
  


• Frye Carmen Boot @ eBay - Holy cow! This is great - there are tons of auctions for them (22 today) and the prices are very low. Example - I see a "buy it now" price on the 3 Strap for $139.99 plus about $10 shipping. OK, that means $150 for the 3 Strap, which is normally priced at $350. ($200 off - ?!)

Alright - those eBay prices are just a tiiiiiny bit too good to pass up. =) (lol)

Off to a great start here - Frye Sandra Boot for Women @ Zappos - They're on sale for about 1/2 price on some of the boots, some of them around $200 off (!). Excellent. =) (As a note, they are out of stock on the Belted Boot, but you can find those specific boots for a good deal @ Endless.)

My next natural thing to do is check for the Frye Sandra Boot for Women @ Endless - well, there are some markdowns on them now, but Zappos is giving a much better deal at this point - at least on the ones that Zappos has in stock (all but the "Belted").

I checked out the Frye Sandra Boot on eBay earlier today before I sat down to write this - and there's really not much there, and what is there is not really a great deal - doesn't beat Zappos out. (You should check yourself though, since the auctions can vary a bit - but I have yet to see a good number of auctions or very good deals on these boots on eBay.)

Todays winner - Zappos! For this version of the Women's Frye Boot, the deals there beat the rest out. (Thanks Zappos!)

Oooooooh yeah. =) The Women's Frye Harness Boot is not only one of my own personal favorites in terms of women's footwear - many women feel the same way and as a result it's become one of the hottest selling boots in '08 and '09.

It has a bit of a "rough edge" to it, and at the same time it adds sooooo much to any casual outfit. You (or I at least) just gotta love 'em.

Okay - arriving at Zappos - There's a nice sale on a couple of styles of the Women's Frye Harness Boot @ Zappos - including the Veronica Harness and the Two Ring. You can get anywhere from around $50 to $80 off per pair.

Next let's try Women's Frye Harness Boot @ Endless - Oooh, the Harness 12R has a very nice markdown price here - about $60 off. =) Sweet. The rest of them appear to have standard prices that are much lower than retail. OK, that's a gooooood place to look if you're shopping.

Alright, now I wouldn't feel like I was actually doing price checking if I didn't check for Women's Frye Harness Boots on eBay... Let's see about the auctions here: Wow, the first thing that I see is a "buy it now" price of $44.95 for the Belted Harness Mule Clog - that's almost unbelievable. There's a black pair (looks like the 12R) with a current auction price of around $100 - now if that doesn't go up much further, this looks like the best place to look for that boot (in a 7 1/2 that is).

OK bottom line - It looks like the best deals for the Women's Frye Harness Boot are on eBay (at least as of March 2009) - actually by a long shot. Even on eBay stores the prices are much lower than they are at either of the resources I gave above.
